Simply the best accommodations in Vernazza! The apartment is every bit worth the stair climb from street level to be treated to sweeping views of the sea through windows that fully open to let in the fresh air. The unit is spotless, well-appointed and Ruth is the most engaging and delightful host. The bedroom upstairs feels like you’re on a luxury yacht with its sleek paneled closets, and windows on both sides to let in the sea breeze. The unit is fully-equipped with A/C for when the weather gets hot. Our stay was amazing.

I could not recommend Ruth’s place more! I firmly believe it’s the best place to stay in Vernazza. We had the best time on the patio overlooking the ocean – and it’s right in the center of town. Ruth’s recommendations were wonderful as well. I’m already trying to figure out when I can come back!

My husband and I stayed 3 days at Ruth’s apartment and it is amazingly beautiful! The pictures can not describe the view! On top of that, the place was spotless and comfortable with breakfast goodies and wine for us! Ruth helped us with reservations and info on hikes and areas she recommended us to see. Ruth even took care of arranging our bags to be taken up to the apartment and then to the train station when leaving! We never had to guess or wonder about anything, she was on top of it! Don’t hesitate to book this gorgeous place with exceptional service!!!!

Fantastic apartment and host. Apartment had everything you could need including games and guidebooks. Cristiano met us at the train station and walked us to the apartment and gave us a great introduction to the apartment and the area. He even helped with dinner reservations for two of the nights we were there. Would definitely go back again.

I’ve spent over 8 years working for Airbnb, and in that time have stayed in some cool spaces. I took part of my sabbatical at Ruth’s flat in Vernazza and this is easily the nicest Airbnb I’ve stayed in to-date. I promise you, the photos don’t do this justice- it is even BETTER than how it looks in photos. Ruth is an AMAZING host who was always keeping in touch with us, responding to every question we had. Check-in was seamless and the time we spent in Vernazza will live on with us for decades. We can’t wait to come back!

Exceptionally responsive host; immaculate apartment; right at town center, but very quiet. The photos do not fully display the incredible view . The appliances and furniture were beautiful . I would recommend this apartment to my family and closest friends.

We highly recommend Ruth’s place if you are planning a visit to Cinque Terre. Vernazza is definitely our favorite of the 5 towns. The location is prefect for a hike to Corniglia or Monterosso. The apartment is clean, modern and perfect for two! A beautiful view of the sea with balcony. Ruth even met us when we arrived at the train station along with a complimentary porter to deliver our luggage to the apartment and she has a packet with wonderful suggestions of things to do! 5 stars! What a fantastic apartment right in the center of Vernazza. The AC is powerful (one unit upstairs and one downstairs) and the balcony is right above the sea. There is a beach about a two minute walk, literally down the stairs and around the corner. Ruth is fantastic and sent a porter to meet us at the post office (the entrance to Vernazza) to carry our bags. The apartment is beautiful with lots of amenities.

Well worth it! It was so incredibly nice to come back to the apartment after a long day of hiking and swimming in the ocean and sit on the balcony overlooking the beach with wine and antipasti while the sun set. It was exactly what we were looking for and more. Very romantic as well!

This was our favorite Aribnb throughout our travels in Italy! It is a spotlessly clean, well-appointed modern apartment, with every amenity you could think of — including a balcony with an amazing view of the Mediterranean, with special touches to make you feel at home — like cold water and prossecco in the fridge, coffee, biscuits, Nutella, and nice toiletries in the bathroom, etc. Ruth was a wonderful host! She helped us with dinner reservations, made arrangements for a porter at the train station to escort us and help bring our luggage to the apartment. She also checked in with us periodically throughout our stay to make sure everything was okay. Her list of recommendations for where to eat and what to do was fantastic! Our boys’ favorite memory from our trip was renting bikes from the shop Ruth recommended in Levanto and riding them on a path that runs through three villages along the Mediterranean and through old railroad tunnels that have been converted to walking/biking. Vernazza is a special, magical place that was even more special by having the opportunity to stay in this awesome apartment!

If you want your experience to be the BEST ever in Cinque Terre, you have arrived at the perfect option! Ruth is the Super Host like no other (who speaks English as her 1st language!). So before our trip began, she had checked in a few times … She asked if there’s anything she can do to assist us to get to Vernazza and if there was any arrangements for our stay, i.e. activities, dinner reservations, etc. It was such the perfect touch that she meets you at the train station and has someone assist with your bags! …And that is a true necessity with all the steps in this ancient village! Wow, better treatment than some family or friends would give! Lol. Ruth was so familiar with the area & train schedules, it was key for less stress! It was my boyfriend’s 60th Birthday and she arranged the perfect restaurant for our celebration ! She has her own list of activities and what to do & where to go👍🏽. It would be a huge oversight to not express just how immaculate her apartment was and the Absolute ideal location above “new beach”!! I have never felt SO compelled to write a review so others can experience the “Super Ruth” treatment like my boyfriend and I received! Grazie Mille Ruth

Perfect! Ruth’s apartment is perfectly positioned overlooking both the water and the town of Vernazza. The apartment itself was very clean, had all amenities we required (and more!) and was very centrally located to everything on the Cinque Terre. This is an outstanding experience: the apartment is absolutely fabulous- feels like being on a luxury ocean liner but with no seasickness and no crowds! Amazing views from bedroom and lounge onto ocean crashing in rocks below. Awesome balcony to take meals on looking out to sea. Well appointed kitchen and bathroom. Words can’t describe how great this place is. The views are breathtaking. Ruth’s husband greeted us at the train station and helped us with our bags, which was so helpful with all those stairs. Her husband Christiano spent time giving us lots of tips on hiking, dining and traveling between villages to make the most of our short stay. They were incredibly responsive to any questions we had and both the sweetest people. So many little touches made our stay fun and comfortable, including a welcome bottle of prosecco! The bed was very comfortable. Can’t recommend this place enough!!

Ruth’s apartment has a spectacular view and is modern and well designed. The space is quite compact, especially in the bathroom, but I sense that is the Cinque Terre norm. The proximity to the restaurants and shops in Vernazza is superb and we loved going for a focaccia and coffee and morning walk by the sea. The walking poles and umbrellas were an appreciated extra.

Ruth’s Vernazza flat is, to date, our best AirBnB experience yet. This space was sparkling clean, well-appointed with amenities (toiletries, etc.) and thoughtful touches (extra USB cables for multi-charging capability, simple breakfast provisions, umbrellas, and an amazing reading selection. Sipping the Prosecco Ruth so thoughtfully provided while sitting on the balcony overlooking the waves was the epitome of what a vacation and travel should be – simple moments. Ruth and her amazing assistance Federica met us at the train station to personally escort us to the flat, pointing out shops, restaurants and of course, wine provisions, along the way. They both were friendly and obviously proud of their contribution to the traveling world, and we immediately felt welcome to this amazing community of Vernazza – thank you so much!

I’ve met many great hosts on Airbnb over the last ten years, but Ruth is the best, hands down. She has the best tips, recommendations, and goes above and beyond in making sure that her guests have all of the information they need to have a wonderful experience in the Cinque Terre. The space is beautiful and recently renovated—full of small touches that show that it’s a home designed for actual people to live in the space and fully enjoy it (i.e., actually comfortable blankets to use on the lounge chairs when watching the sunset over the Mediterranean). Can’t recommend this space (or Ruth) enough!

Our stay at Ruth’s place was an awesome Airbnb experience. Ruth and her husband are very friendly, totally caring about their guests and have outfitted this lovely apartment with many special touches and thoughful considerations. We had the pleasure of spending some time together with them while enjoying a pesto making class. At all stages in our planning and travel Ruth was very quick to respond to questions and full of helpful suggestions. The view out of the windows and from the terrace is spectacular of the cliffs, rocky beach and water below. The apartment was equally furnished as well with fresh roses to slippers along with many other items. We were delighted to find one of our favorite board games that added to our family’s shared experience of the joy in spending a few days in Cinque Terre.

Absolutely stunning place. Checkin was easy, the location was out of this work beautiful. Food nearby was good. Lots of stairs to climb but that was expected. Our friends had an Airbnb at the same time just a few steps away from us and paid 150.00 per night less for a place without the ocean view and slightly less of an upgraded place. If you want the view and a little extra space, then go with Ruth’s place.

Ruth’s place is fantastic from the accommodation’s, to her tips on what to do. She went to the extra effort to make our trip fantastic by meeting us at the train station and having our luggage delivered to the apartment. The actual apartment has a incredible deck–and it is right over the ocean. Ruth had coffee, tea, some treats–I can’t think of one thing to say that she could improve upon. We slept well –as you can keep the windows open to let the ocean breeze to cool you down. This place was better than what I had expected. I travel extensively for work–so this is saying a lot! We will visit again Ruth–we also enjoyed your recommendations on things to do–hiking, biking, and dining. The only thing we did not get a chance to do is go to the opera. The best of the best. Ruth’s spot is absolutely fabulous. It’s in a prime location in Vernazza and the space itself is beautifully designed. It’s clean, modern and well appointed. There is also a detailed Welcome Guide that includes restaurant recommendations and things to do. We took advantage of the private balcony that overlooks the sea and started each night with an aperitivo there. The view can’t be beat. Ruth was extremely responsive and her neighbor, Federica, is also a joy. They went above and beyond in countless ways. We had the best time and would highly recommend.

Book this house!! We were blown away with Ruth’s hospitality and the incredible home she rented us! The view was stunning, pictures do not do it justice, and our location in the quaint town of Vernazza was perfect for quick trips down the coast to their other towns. Ruth truly thought of every amenity and made us feel very much at home. It is a climb to get to the house, but she organized luggage service and takes your right from the train to the front door. She asked any and all questions we had, as well as gave us a number of local tips that proved very helpful! One hundred percent recommend!!

Ruth was beyond amazing in every aspect! As a host, she was incredibly helpful suggesting local activities and things to do. I had a list of dinner reservations I wanted, and she personally reached out and made all of them for me. Not too mention she got us the best tables at each spot 🙂 The apartment was even better than it looks in the photos. The location was the best in Vernazza, being both in the middle of town and on the water. It was very clean and well supplied with towels, shampoo/conditioner, cooking utensils, prosecco, etc I highly encourage everyone to book this Airbnb for their time in Cinque Terre!

Amazing! We loved staying at Il Ciasso. Cristiano went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The view from the balcony was spectacular. Apartment was sparkling clean, and had everything we needed during our stay. Location great- it was a perfect base for us to explore the other towns. Cristiano was so helpful- from meeting us at the station to help with luggage to recommending and booking restaurants. We didn’t have a bad meal! If we could give Ruth and Cristiano more then 5 stars we would, without hesitation. Our stay in Vernazza was the highlight of our two week trip to Italy. Yes, the space is clean, in a great location, and nothing beats evenings sitting on their balcony. That being said the real reason to stay here is Ruth and Cristiano. Their knowledge and love for the area, detailed guide and suggestions, and overall hospitality is unmatched. What we love most about traveling is the opportunity to meet new and interesting people along the way, oftentimes by chance. We feel very lucky to have crossed paths with these two and would encourage you to seize this chance to do the same.

Cet endroit est en tout point conforme à ce qui est affiché et il est parfaitement équipé. Tout est extrêmement propre, l’accueil de Ruth et son mari Christiano est impeccable. Ruth et Cristiano nous ont donné des tonnes de renseignements sur Cinque Terre et sur les activités à faire. Leurs explications étaient toujours très précises et complètes. Ils ont répondu à toutes nos demandes extrêmement rapidement et ont réservé des restaurants extraordinaires pour nous. L’appartement n’est pas très grand mais chaque espace est optimisé et on ne se sent pas du tout à l’étroit. (Nous y étions avec notre fille de 12 ans). C’est un endroit très tranquille et la vue est superbe. Je le recommande fortement!

Ruth is an incredibly kind and helpful host. She answered every message I sent within minutes, she knew what I needed before I even asked. By arranging parking and porters, she ensured that the difficult Vernazza driving and climbing steps with luggage were no issue at all. She offered lots of great local tips. I’m sure if I lived in Vernazza, I would be inviting her over for a spritz every evening! Regarding the flat, it is perfectly situated (in the middle of everything, but still quiet), very stylish, well-air conditioned, clean, and very comfortable for my family of four. The only trouble is that there is so much to do in Cinque Terre but you never really want to get off the flat’s lovely terrace!

Can’t thank Ruth enough for an exceptional experience. She truly went above and beyond to make our trip special. We were treated as if we were long-time friends. Ruth provided recommendations for a local experience, helped to coordinate transportation in/out of town, and met us when we entered town to help with check in and baggage. This place is just a gem. I don’t think you’ll find a better location overlooking the waters. You’re really in the heart of Vernazza. And Ruth is absolutely amazing, she certainly has attention to detail. The home felt so clean and we would have been content just staying inside all day with the windows opened to the sea. Ruth provided more than just the essentials, I mean there were even house slippers and a lovely welcome package of snacks and drinks for our family of 4. She had a great list of recommendations and we made good use of Rick Steve’s pocket book of Cinque Terre. The family was able to even log on to Netflix and watch from the TV at night. There’s absolutely nothing bad I can say about this home! Do your part and help save electricity while you’re out and turn off the AC. I highly recommend Ruth’s apartment. If we were to ever return, I’d stayed here again in a heart beat.

I don’t which I loved more Ruth or her apartment. Ruth was the hostess with the mostest. She had organized a binder of many ideas of things to do, amazing restaurants, & ways to be off the beaten path (away from tourists). I felt like I was a long lost family member that she was helping out. The apartment is to die for! It was adorable with enough space to be outside watching the ocean, sleeping in those comfortable beds, or just chilling after a great day exploring. We will be back!

We just got back from our stay at Ruth’s place in Vernazza. The view was spectacular and the apartment could not have been more perfect. The apartment itself was sparklingly clean and Ruth had very thoughtfully provided a lot of little comforts. We felt completely welcomed by Ruth. From meeting us at the train station to giving us all of her local, insider tips on where to go and what to do, Ruth was such a warm hostess. My family was so excited to run into her in town – we felt like locals. I would highly recommend renting from Ruth and we would most certainly stay again.

Ruth was an incredible host. Her communication was excellent and she gave us some amazing tips on how to maximize our time in Vernazza and Cinque Terre. She greeted us near the train and gave us a good lay of the land in Vernazza before even getting to the apartment! The apartment has some of the most amazing views just off the balcony and it was amazing to sleep with the windows cracked and hear the waves crash onto shore. THOSE VIEWS! The unit was beautifully designed, immaculately clean, and immediately put us at peace as soon as we walked in. The only thing we would have changed was to stay for three nights instead of two! We will not make that mistake next time, as we will be back! Ruth truly has thought of all touches inside the unit. Celebrating our honeymoon, she had a cold bottle of champagne ready for us, a cold bottle of water, maps, coupons for a local store, and light up candles for us to illuminate the unit at night! This was hands down, the best airbnb experience we’ve ever had. Thank you for everything Ruth!

Ruth manages a real gem of a property and she’s a true gem of a host! What can we say about the place other than Excellent! Top Notch! If you’re staying in Cinque Terre, you hope you can stay here. If we had known beforehand, we would have scheduled our trip to stay longer. Plus it’s true value. The photos are great, but can’t do it justice. Ruth goes above and beyond your typical Airbnb hosts, doing what she can to help make your stay memorable and providing years of local knowledge about the area. I won’t bore you all with a longwinded review. Just feel lucky if you get to book this place.

My stay in Vernazza came after hearing great things about Cinque Terre for many years. Vernazza was a perfect base for myself and three kids. I highly suggest Ruth’s apartment. It has the most beautiful views, it is private and safe. The towns can get busy by day so having a flat to return to after being out was wonderful. Staying in Vernazza allowed us to swim in the late afternoon, walk to dinner and explore quite streets at night. I should mention that we had a rental car that we were able to park above Vernazza in a reserved spot (Ruth arranged) it made the experience with young kids easier. This apartment is a good choice for families.

I choose hospitality as the item I loved most about Ruth’s place only because the website wouldn’t let me choose all of them. My sister-in-law and I visited Vernazza on June 10 for 3 nights. We would have extended the time if we could have; but no surprise, it was already rented out. From the time we booked this location, our contact with Ruth was amazing. She provided train suggestions from our previous destination, met us at the train (THANK GOODNESS FOR THE PORTER!), provided a detailed tour of the home, helpful hints for the local area with restaurants, things to do, etc., and even arranged the porter to help out at our departure. While receiving the tour of the apartment, we were truly in awe at this fantastic gem. Ruth has obviously put her heart and soul into making this place perfect. The fact that the view from the terrace is EXACTLY as pictured, just makes you feel like you have found a little piece of heaven. We ended our first evening enjoying the complimentary Prosecco while taking in the gorgeous view of the Mediterranean. Our time here was simply spectacular. Thank you, Ruth, for helping to make our time in Vernazza unforgettable. Hope to make it back, but anticipate finding availability might be tricky once word gets out about your fantastic place. We so badly want to tell you this place is terrible so that we can keep this amazing gem all to ourselves… but we adore the host way too much to do that. Simply put: this place is magic. Where to even begin! First, before you waste anymore time: BOOK IT! Ok, now that that’s out of the way, moving on: you’ll love the view, you’ll love the balcony (where we ate so many meals, lounged, and had very serious discussions about moving to Italy), you’ll love the bed, you’ll love the espresso maker, you’ll love the sea breeze (she has air con but we didn’t even need it), you’ll love the location, you’ll love the town, you’ll love the hiking… Finally, you’ll LOVE Ruth. With your whole heart. Because she is an AirBnB angel that cares so sincerely about her guests. When you meet her you feel like you’re family. Also, her local knowledge and guides were gold. She is sincerely the greatest AirBnB host we’ve ever encountered and also just an all around incredible human. Like we said, you’ll love her. You’ll love it all!

We cannot thank Ruth enough for our wonderful stay in Vernazza. We had the most relaxing time, it felt like home away from home. Ruth’s hospitality was fantastic. She went above and beyond to provide tips and recommendations on hikes to go on and restaurants to visit. Beyond that, she met us at the station and even arranged for someone to help with our luggage (there are a lot of steps to get to the apartment!). Once you reach the apartment, the views are breathtaking. Open the windows and listen to the sounds of the ocean or sit out on the balcony with a drink and book. It was extremely relaxing and we felt like locals for a few days. You must stay here if you’re planning to visit Cinque Terre.

Absolutely amazing apartment with Ruth as a great host. We initially did not want to stay in Vernazza because we read the crowds were overwhelming. However, Ruth recommended many local experiences and hikes that took us away from the crowds, and the apartment was like an oasis for us. We would do a hike in the morning, come back for lunch with an amazing sea view at the apartment, have a relaxing nap and then head out again refreshed in the evening for one of Ruth’s amazing recommendations for food or drink. The apartment itself was extremely well equipped and comfortable but we liked the personal touch. The view was to die for and the bit I loved most was going to sleep and waking up to the sound of lapping waves everyday (no vehicles, no human chatter). Highly recommended and can’t go wrong.

This was an excellent apartment. Sleeping every night with the ocean below was amazing. Very close to everything Cinque Terre has to offer. Ruth is an outstanding host. She has a second apartment available for families as well. Be aware there are stairs – so, if you are not mobile you will have difficulty accessing the apartment. Couldn’t give it a better recommendation.

Wow! Ruth’s apartment and Ruth herself were both first-rate! First of all, the place is exactly as advertised – stunning views and unbeatable location. The apartment had everything we needed and more, it was very comfortable, thoughtfully arranged and decorated, and just overall extremely accommodating. The view alone is worth tof admission – incredible! Also, the bed was very comfortable, and Ruth thought of everything; espresso maker, a bottle of Prosecco for our arrival, extra towels, two sets of keys, I could go on and on – Ruth was a wonderfully accommodating host. She met us at the train station right when we arrived and walked us through town, explaining everything that needed explaining, and answering any questions we had. She made herself available 100% of the time we were there, should we have any questions, and provided excellent recommendations. Very simply, this entire experience was outstanding.
