When is the Best Time to Visit Cinque Terre?
I love Cinque Terre all year round and each season offers something special.
Spring is beautiful for hiking with blooming wildflowers and budding grapevines and the reopening of the tourism season.
Summer’s sunny days are perfect for swimming, long lunches, a siesta, and dinners under the stars. August is the hottest month of the year. I love late summer’s grape harvest season in August and September.
Autumn is a transition season, with early September’s summer mix of warm sun to late September’s arrival of cooler temperatures. October is variable, from lovely summer weather to crisp autumn days perfect for hiking adventures.
Winter’s low season, from November through February, is quiet and can be rainy, but it also offers some of the best sunsets!
My favorite months are July for hot summer weather and September for hot to warm days and cooler nights. I love hiking in every month of the spring and autumn (and in winter if it’s sunny).
